Cher Gilroy, LCMHCA

Cher Gilroy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) who works with adults navigating anxiety, trauma-related stress, and major life transitions. Her approach is client-centered and collaborative, grounded in creating a space where clients feel heard, supported, and respected.

Cher often works with individuals who feel overwhelmed by internal pressure, uncertainty, or the lingering impact of difficult experiences. She values therapy as a steady, nonjudgmental space where clients can slow down, explore their emotions, and begin to make sense of what they are carrying.

Her work is informed by evidence-based approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, and is shaped by a deep belief in the importance of empathy, active listening, and partnership in the therapeutic process. Cher helps clients develop practical coping strategies while also fostering greater self-awareness and resilience over time.

At the core of Cher’s work is the belief that meaningful change happens when clients feel supported rather than pushed. She approaches therapy as a collaborative journey, walking alongside clients as they identify what is no longer serving them and make room for what matters most.

About Cher’s work:

Cher has particular experience supporting veterans and their families, as well as individuals working through anxiety and trauma-related concerns. She brings sensitivity to the unique challenges that can arise during major life transitions, including adjusting to new roles, responsibilities, or phases of life.

She values therapy as a space where clients can show up as they are, without fear of judgment, and works collaboratively to help individuals build confidence, clarity, and sustainable coping skills. Cher approaches each therapeutic relationship with care, patience, and respect for the pace and needs of the person in front of her.
