Emily Uhlig, LCSWA
Life does not always unfold the way we expect.
Many people find themselves navigating difficult seasons marked by loss, change, uncertainty, emotional overwhelm, or challenges they never anticipated facing. During these moments, it can be difficult to know where to turn or how to move forward while carrying the weight of what has happened.
Emily creates a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe sharing their experiences and exploring what healing may look like for them. She works with children ages 10 and older, teens, adults, and older adults, helping clients navigate life’s challenges with empathy, encouragement, and support. Her goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as they move through difficult experiences and toward greater confidence, healing, and hope.
About Emily’s work:
Emily’s professional background includes extensive experience in hospice care, supporting individuals and families through grief, loss, bereavement, caregiving challenges, and some of life’s most difficult transitions. This work shaped her deep appreciation for the resilience people demonstrate during times of profound change, as well as the importance of having compassionate support when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.
She is particularly passionate about helping clients navigate grief and major life transitions, recognizing that loss can take many forms. Whether someone is mourning the death of a loved one, adjusting to changes in health, relationships, family roles, identity, or life circumstances, Emily provides a supportive space to process those experiences and move forward at a pace that feels right for them.
Emily also enjoys working with older adults and values the unique perspective, wisdom, and challenges that can accompany different stages of life. She believes every season brings its own opportunities for growth, reflection, and healing, and she approaches each client’s story with respect, curiosity, and compassion.
In addition to her work with grief and life transitions, Emily supports clients navigating anxiety, ADHD-related challenges, and periods of emotional overwhelm. She understands that many individuals spend years feeling frustrated by patterns they do not fully understand or struggling to balance the demands of everyday life. Her approach focuses on helping clients develop greater self-understanding, practical coping skills, confidence, and self-compassion while building on the strengths they already possess.
Emily believes meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely heard and understood. She works collaboratively with clients to strengthen resilience, process difficult experiences, develop healthier coping strategies, and create space for personal growth. Whether someone is facing a difficult season, adjusting to a significant life change, coping with loss, or seeking greater clarity and support, Emily strives to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, encouragement, and hope.
