Kristen Wright was licensed in California in 2017 and worked throughout the pandemic until 2022, providing Telehealth services across state lines. Afterward, she relocated to North Carolina and obtained her NC license in 2024.
Kristen’s pre-licensure work included roles in the foster care system and residential settings for both teens and adults with substance use issues, as well as working with families who were victims of crime (VOC).
Rate:
$200 per session

Eating Disorder Experience:
Kristen spent four years at the esteemed EDTLA clinic under clinical director Dr. Lauren Muhlheim, specialising in eating disorders, anxiety, and depression that has an emphases on FBT for families with children and adolescents with eating disorders. Kristen has completed 2500 hours under supervision for certification in eating disorders (CEDS pending) with IADEP, focusing on intuitive eating, Health at Every Size (HAES), and body positivity.
Kristen completed her FBT training in 2019 with the Training Institute for Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders and has been working with families since then, from 2019-2021. Anxiety:
Over the past four years, Kristen has treated patients with anxiety disorders, including phobias, panic attacks, social anxiety, and rejection sensitivity dysphoria, using evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
Neurodiversity:
With more than a decade of experience, Kristen has worked with individuals with ADHD and Autism Spectrum in both child/adolescent non-public school settings and adult outpatient settings. She is well-versed in challenges such as masking, anxiety related to social cues, and complex diagnoses that often accompany neurodiversity. Kristen is committed to advocating for her clients across all treatment teams, including primary care, psychiatry, and educational professionals. She addresses a range of topics such as coping strategies, burnout, organization, stigma, PTSD, trauma, financial concerns, and relationships. Kristen is also an advocate for recognising Complex ADHD, a concept that is gaining broader recognition in the mental health field.
Therapeutic Approaches:
Kristen employs a variety of therapeutic styles beyond CBT for educational purposes only including psychodynamic theories, parts work, and narrative therapy. She explains these approaches as needed to help clients better understand themselves and make informed decisions for treatment techniques to research and learn about.
Views on Western and Holistic Medicine:
Kristen advocates for both Western and holistic medical traditions. She encourages clients to educate themselves, explore different approaches, and find trusted medical professionals to determine what works best for them. Kristen believes in empowerment through self-education and exploration, and she supports her clients in finding their unique path to wellness.
