Liz Jacobs, Counselor-in-Training

Liz Jacobs is a counselor-in-training who works with adolescents and young adults navigating emotional challenges, identity development, and life transitions. Her approach is collaborative and person-centered, grounded in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences with honesty and self-compassion.

Liz often works with individuals who feel overwhelmed by social pressures, internal expectations, or uncertainty about who they are becoming. She brings warmth, curiosity, and structure to sessions, helping clients build coping skills, strengthen self-esteem, and move toward meaningful change at a pace that feels supportive rather than overwhelming.

Her work is informed by an integrative framework that includes person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, and reality therapy. Liz weaves these approaches together thoughtfully, focusing on practical tools while also helping clients develop insight and confidence in their own voice.

At the heart of Liz’s work is a belief that growth happens when people feel truly seen and accepted. She values therapy as a collaborative process and partners closely with clients as they build resilience, self-awareness, and a stronger sense of agency in their lives.

About Liz’s work:

Liz works primarily with adolescents (ages 12–18) and young adults (ages 18–24), supporting them through challenges such as anxiety, depression, social media stress, identity exploration, and major life transitions. She also has experience helping clients navigate concerns related to body image, self-esteem, bullying, impulse control, grief, and the complexities of modern relationships, including parasocial dynamics.

Her background in mental health advocacy continues to inform her work today. Liz brings empathy, authenticity, and an engaging presence to therapy, meeting clients where they are and helping them feel both supported and empowered as they move toward their goals.

She views therapy as a welcoming, collaborative process where clients can gain new perspectives, develop healthier coping strategies, and reconnect with what gives their lives meaning. Sarah approaches each therapeutic relationship with care, curiosity, and respect for the individual path each client is on.
